What procedures do I need to go through at the college after I submit application for suspension/graduation/withdrawal on student affairs system？

Residents who submit application for suspension/graduation/withdrawal on student affairs system should go to the front desk of their tower to go through the check-out procesure before leaving campus.

How can I store my luggage in college when I am going to leave campus for exchange/visiting program or suspension？

Residents can send an e-mail to shaw@cuhk.edu.cn to apply for luggage deposit a week before checking out. Please note that the period of the storage should not exceed one year.

What are the Visitor rules?

  • Any person who is not a resident of the hostel will be regarded as a visitor. Visitors are required to observe the College Student Regulations during their visit to the hostel. 
  • Residents may receive visitors between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm every day. Unless overnight visits have been approved, all unauthorized visitors should leave the hostel and Shaw College premises by 11:00 pm.
  • Residents are expected to inform visitors of the College Student Regulations and are responsible for the behavior of their visitors. 
  • A resident is expected to accompany his/her visitor at all times. A resident who allows his/her visitor to be in the College unaccompanied is liable to be penalized.
     

What is the maximum watt for an electrical appliance can I use in the dormitory?

Electrical appliances of high energy consumption higher than 1200W are not allowed to be used in hostel rooms or public areas.

Can I keep a pet in the College?

No, pets are not allowed in the College.
