Shaw Traditions
· Orientation and Welcome Party
At Shaw College, the Orientation and Welcome Party is the first collective activity for new students. It provides an opportunity for students to meet senior staff members, establish connections, and participate in ice-breaking activities.
· High Table Dinner
The High Table Dinner is a grand annual event during which students of Shaw College, dressed in formal attire, dine with senior university and college staff. The event features keynote speeches from distinguished guests and performances by talented students.
· Graduation Activities
Shaw College celebrates the significant milestone of graduation in a memorable and meaningful way. As a token of recognition, each graduate is presented with a sash, proudly worn for the iconic First Graduation photo. On the day of the Graduation Ceremony, graduates and their families are invited to partake in a joyous buffet lunch at Shaw College, marking the culmination of their academic journey.
While bidding farewell to roommates and friends may evoke bittersweet emotions, graduates embark on new ventures and challenges in their lives. Regardless of their paths, the Shaw spirit remains ingrained in their hearts, as they forever remain cherished members of the Shaw family.
