[Shaw Praxis 2025] Applications Open for Social Practice Projects
As the saying goes, “It’s easy to grasp concepts in theory, but true understanding comes from practical application.” In this era brimming with vitality and challenges, we are constantly seeking opportunities that nurture our personal growth and foster deeper connections with the world around us. Now, such an opportunity has arrived! Shaw College is currently welcoming applications from all students for 2025 Social Practice Projects.
Project Scope
Features:
- These projects are comprehensive and require substantial engagement, with a total practice duration of over 14 hours.
- The projects typically revolve around social research, long-term volunteer services, or cross-regional practices.
Target Participants:
- Students who wish to immerse themselves in societal engagements and undertake in long-term practical experiences.
- Students with a clear research focus or service direction.
- Students who are willing to invest substantial time and effort to pursue high-quality outcomes.
- Small-scale practical projects
Features:
- These projects allow flexible timing, with a practical duration of over 4 hours.
- Students have the freedom to choose a suitable location, provided they prioritize their own safety.
Target Participants:
- Students who wish to participate in practical activities during their spare time.
- Students who are interested in volunteer services, or public welfare endeavors.
Application Method
Students may form teams freely, with each individual limited to one team. Each team should consist of 4-12 members. Once formed, team members need to collaboratively write a project proposal using the template provided in Attachment 1 and submit it to the Shaw College Office via email at shaw@cuhk.edu.cn. If students have already identified a supervisor for their proposed project, please indicate this in the application.
*Applications for both large-scale and small-scale practical activities are open year-round, and project proposals can be submitted via email at any time.
Project Support
For approved projects, the College will provide financial support based on actual circumstances (with a maximum of 2000 yuan per project).
