[Invitation] Shaw College 2024 Creative Poster Design Workshops Are Now Open for Registration

Dear Shaw students,

Have you ever been captivated by the allure of a well-designed poster? Are you eager to design a creative poster for an event you are involved in? Poster design is not just an intersection of art and creativity, but also a vital medium for information transmission. To facilitate understanding and mastery of this skill among all, Shaw College has collaborated with the University Arts Centre (UAC) to invite Ms. Holnans, a renowned local illustrator in Shenzhen, to deliver a series of Creative Poster Design workshops. Below is a brief introduction to the course and its instructor:

Shaw College 2024 Creative Poster Design Workshops：How to create a good poster

Course Load: 4 Sessions
Time and Date: 19:00-20:00 on Sep. 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22, and Nov. 5.
Venue: Room F302, Shaw College
Language of Instruction: Mandarin Chinese
Course Requirements: Students are encouraged to use any tablet device (e.g., iPad) and download the "Procreate" App, or choose other user-friendly drawing software (e.g., Memo, Infinity, etc.). For those who prefer traditional hand-drawing, you may bring along a pen and paper to practice without compromising the course quality.

About the Lecturer

HOLNANS

Holnans is a well-known illustrator based in Shenzhen, excelling in brand illustrations, graphic design, wall paintings, and stage art. Her portfolio includes contributions to a diverse range of projects such as Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, Shenzhen Yantian Youth Art Week, Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, Meizu Technology, SUPERMONKEY, Shenzhen QC 101 Community, and Fat Bird Theatre.

Section 4	Nov. 5th	"Interacting with" a poster: appreciating a mysterious poster object; introducing alternative approaches to making a poster.

Successful registration of the subsequent workshops requires a deposit of RMB 100 to be paid before the registration deadline (please scan the transfer code to be provided by Ally at E205, Shaw College Office). The quota is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to Shaw students. Successful registrants will be notified via an email with an invitation to a Wechat group.

Note:
1.   The deposit will be refunded at the end of the workshop. However, it will be forfeited if you miss two or more sessions.
2.   The course roster is fixed. No substitutions will be allowed for attending the lesson.
3.   The course schedule may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other special circumstances.
