From August 26th to 29th, Shaw College hosted a series of welcoming activities titled "Unlocking a Vibrant Journey with Shaw: Shaw College 2024 Freshmen Welcome Activities". These events were structured into three stages, aimed at helping freshmen seamlessly integrate into the college community, connect with teachers and peers, and adapt to campus life.

On August 26th and 27th, Shaw College welcomed the new students of the 2024 cohort. Volunteer students were deployed in the lobbies to guide the newcomers. Professor Zhu Shiping (Vice President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen), Professor Cong Wang (Associate Vice President and Master of Shaw College), Ms. Lin Yanjuan (Deputy Director of Shaw College), and staff from the College Office were present to support the students and their parents, and answer questions.
On August 28th, "Shaw College 2024 Orientation - Session I: Welcome Meeting" was held. It gathered resident tutors, wardens, mentors, and new students to discuss plans for the coming semester and share expectations for campus life. During this meeting, the freshmen gained an in-depth understanding of the College's regulations and received valuable advice on dormitory living.
In the afternoon of August 29th, "Orientation - Session II: Welcome Ceremony & Ice-breaking Party" took place in the University Sports Hall. Professor Cong Wang delivered a welcoming speech to the new students, sharing insights on cultivating excellence in the context of globalization. He encouraged students to adopt a lifelong learning mindset and experience the College's holistic educational philosophy through diverse activities. Following the speech, an award ceremony was held for representatives of the "Freshmen Pioneers" to encourage college contributions. Subsequently, the freshmen participated in ice-breaking games designed to foster friendships and a sense of belonging. 
That evening, "Shaw College 2024 Orientation - Session III: Freshmen Carnival" provided students with an opportunity to explore vibrant student organizations through interactive booths, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the diverse options available at Shaw College.
