Shaw College's 2024 English Pre-sessional Course (EPC) Welcome Party

The Shaw College's 2024 English Pre-sessional Course (EPC) Welcome Party came alive with enthusiasm on the evening of August 11th. New EPC students participated in a well-planned welcome dinner as well as informative sessions on practical English learning tips and campus life guidance. Ms. Lucienne Li from the Shaw College Office started the event with a detailed explanation of the collegiate system, emphasizing its vital role in student development; she also introduced the College's facilities and student organizations, giving them a clearer picture of the College. In a session focused on English language proficiency, Professor Zhang Wen shared insights on "Effective English Learning Strategies", equipping the freshmen with practical advice to help them swiftly adapt to the University's English teaching standards. Following her, Mr. Zeng Zhiguo, President of the Shaw College Resident Student Association (SCRSA), delivered a detailed “Living Guide”, covering campus network resources, academic tools, and everyday life essentials. Through its demonstration of support and care, SCRSA aimed to help new students transition smoothly into college life and feel at ease in their new environment. The event wrapped up with fun ice-breaking games, providing them with an opportunity to get to know each other amidst laughter and enjoyment.
